In-body CAR-T eases MS in 16-person NEJM trial
A Nature report on a New England Journal of Medicine trial describes 16 people with multiple sclerosis or other autoimmune conditions who received a lentivirus that delivers CAR instructions inside the body. The engineered T cells target autoantibodies on B cells. Over about six months of follow-up, motor, cognitive, and fatigue measures improved in MS patients, though the authors call the results promising, not definitive.
